Leadership. Accountability. opportunity for every student

I’m José Luis Piña, and I’m running for the Lynwood Unified School District Board of Education to help strengthen our schools and build on the services that support students, families, teachers, and staff. As a longtime Lynwood resident, parent, business owner, and former PTO and DELAC president, I’ve spent years working alongside our school community.

My Priorities for Lynwood Unified

  • Student Achievement
  • Safe and Supportive Schools
  • Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency
  • Parent and Community Voice
  • Supporting Teachers and School Employees
  • Protecting and Enhancing Programs and Services

WHY I'M RUNNING

Our Children Deserve Our Best

I’m running because School Board decisions have a direct impact on the educational experience of Lynwood students and families. I want to contribute my experience and perspective while keeping students and classrooms at the center of the conversation. My focus is on strengthening academic opportunities, maintaining open communication with families, supporting teachers and school employees, encouraging responsible use of district resources, and helping ensure schools remain safe and welcoming places for students to learn. I believe School Board service requires listening, thoughtful questions, collaboration, and careful consideration of how each decision affects students and the broader Lynwood community.
